Beaded Jewelry & Shibori Ribbon

Skill level:  Intermediate to Advanced

The theme of these four classes were chosen by the students.  We will make a bracelet but this is no ordinary bracelet.  The base of the bracelet will be made with Shibori ribbon.  Shibori ribbon is hand-dyed silk which is created by twisting, folding, stitching, and binding silk ribbon or fabric during the dyeing process.  That process creates a pleated, vibrantly colored ribbon that gives you a very elegant base for your bead embroidery.   You will have four colored ribbon choices that have been previously dyed. The beautiful Shibori ribbon base will be embellished with bead woven flowers. All of this will either be attached to your choice of a 2 inch brass cuff or a fiber base that is made for bead embroidery.  If you have them, please bring beading needles, embroidery scissors, beading thread and a pad to hold the beads.  If you do not have them, all supplies except scissors are available for purchase from the instructor.  An additional kit fee will be charged at each class for the materials for the project.
