Introduction to Quilt Making

This five session class is an introduction to quilt making for beginning quilters. We will be constructing a small wall hanging or baby/lap quilt sized piece. The skills covered include fabric selection and preparation, using a rotary cutter and measuring, and basic sewing machine skills. We will learn a variety of beginning quilting patches as well as how to anchor, bind, and quilt your piece.
Supplies Needed:
- 3-4 colors of cotton fabric (recycled or new/4 fat quarters)
- Sewing machine (size 10-12 needles)
- Rotary cutter (45mm is standard)
- Rotary ruler and mat
- Basic sewing supplies- small scissors, fine straight pins, seam ripper, all purpose thread and a pencil
