Untitled Figures
Print
Artist used heavy black pigments to create an image of a naked female form standing with frontal portions of the body toward the viewer. The central image extends to within 1/8" of top and bottom of press marks. Consists of a female human form standing with her front to the viewer. The body appears distorted, as if the figure may be having a spastic attack. Negative portions of pictorial plane fill-in with fine lines of heavily applied inks. The line that looks like a broken center line on a highway crosses the pictorial plane diagonally from the figure's right foot to the right bicep. Printed below the press line is "2/30 Steele" in graphite. The paper appears to be of good quality cotton fibers, bears no watermarks, and has uncut edges.
