Slightly left of center at the bottom of the paper is written the follow "S. Richards. Munich--March 2nd 1883". Written in ink below the picture is "To the Anderson Club with Respectful Compliments Samuel Richards Dec. 17th, 1891. Pen Study-Bavarian Peasant".
