Provincetown
Painting
Watercolor and gouache on white watercolor paper (medium weight from a Morilla pad) with no watermark. Image depicts representational village street scene with New England cottage-type houses that are close together and close to the street. Several have fences surrounding the houses. The street runs from left of the center foreground diagonally back to the left middle ground. Above the treetops in the middle ground are two spires, one of which has a clock, the other might be a church. The background is a blue streaked sky with warm orange splotches suggesting that the setting sun is to the right of the town. The painting is signed in the lower right corner in blue watercolor paint, "Grace Leslie Dickerson."
