Grandma
Print
Image of an older woman in what appears to be a seated position. She is staring out to the viewer's left. She is wearing a loose fitting white blouse with a tie around her neck that obscures the buttons on the blouse. Her hair is tightly pulled back. In appearance, she is both young and old at the same time. Her face seems to be of particular interest to the artist. It is scored with an elaborate plowing of fertile crosshatchings which seem to be everywhere and go everywhere. It is remarkable that such subtle beauty can be achieved from the rough handling of the medium.
