Putting Down Roots
Photograph
Photograph of a woman directly in the center of the image with her arms stretched upward. Coming from her arms are some leaves and small branches. Her long, dark hair is blown outward on each side, and she is looking down. Her dress is form-fitting, stopping at her knees and elbows, and has a tree bark texture imposed over it. Coming out of her feet are roots that are also burrowing into the ground. We can see a cross-section of the earth below and the roots. There are three blackbirds in the top right section. Clouds can be faintly seen around the edges. The grain pattern of the wood is strong and most visible in the center of the image. The image wraps around the wooden frame on all sides. Unsigned.
