Youth and Teen
Classes for children up to the age of 12 years. High school students may enroll in either Teen or Adult Classes. Enrollment in Adult Classes is based on availability & ability per approval of the instructor.
Drawing Basics / Intermediate

Cost: $60 ($50 members)
Grades 4 to 6
For students serious about art, but don’t have enough class time in school. Learning about art basics of composition, lighting and tonal values while also using a variety of drawing media such as graphite, charcoal, and pastels.
Students will advance from basics to intermediate level throughout the course. Minimum students 4, maximum 12.

Journey Around the World
4 Tuesdays, October 4, 11, 18, 25 4:00 p.m.-5:30 p.m.
Cost: $40 ($35 members)
Grades 1 to 3
Taking off from our new Hands on Gallery “A Passport to Adventure” students will experience literature, architecture and artists from different parts of the globe. Visiting different countries each week, students can fill their passports while experiencing new cultures and even a new way to see our own. Minimum students 4, maximum 15.

Little Artists Preschool Class

“Little Artists” preschool class will keep little hands busy and young imaginations active while learning about Great Artists! Preschoolers will experiment with a variety of media including: painting, gluing collages, sculpting, and much more!

Two-Dimensional Art

Grades 7 to 9
This is a two-dimensional mixed media art class designed for students grade 7 to 9. Students will complete a new project each week. Painting, drawing, and collages are a few examples of the projects that will be made in this class.

Adult
Printmaking

For those interested in learning the basic techniques in printmaking. This class will touch on several different printmaking processes such as monoprints, texture prints, and marbling paper.

Photography - Advanced Digital

No prior experience necessary
An in-depth look at the possibilities hidden in your digital point-and-shoot or DSLR camera. A technical approach to working with your camera, downloading, manipulating, and printing images, as well as strengthening your compositions when designing your photographs. This course will help train your mind’s eye and boost your confidence when working with your digital camera. Minimum 4 students, maximum 20 students.

Photography - Beginning Digital

No prior experience necessary
This class is designed for students to learn the basics of digital photography. The instructor will work with each student one-on-one to explore the camera’s possibilities. Outside of class students will take pictures, which will then be discussed in class. Minimum of 4 students, maximum 20.

Knitting Basics

For those interesting in learning the basic stitches and techniques of knitting. Minimum 4 students.

“Mandalas and Mocha”
with Christine Erny (Christine and her family lived in Kathmandu, Nepal for several years in which time she was immersed in the culture of the area).
2 Sundays November 6 and 13 from 3-5 p.m.
$45 ($35 members) plus a supply fee to the instructor of $10
All levels welcome
“Mandala” the Sanskrit word for circle, is an ancient art form used by many cultures. The circle is a symbol of wholeness, and this workshop will be as much about the experience as the product. Come make beautiful mandalas while becoming more “centered”, and warm up with a hot cup of coffee or hot cocoa. Minimum students 3, maximum 15.

Bead Weaving

Large rings are all the rage for the Fall season. We will be making a ring using seed beads and Swarovski crystal to create lots of bling. In addition we will make a necklace and a bangle bracelet from a variety of sizes of seed beads. These are bead weaving not bead stringing classes. A fee for the materials will be due at each class for that night’s project. Please bring embroidery scissors. The following will be available for purchase
from the instructor, but if you have them, please bring: beading needles, beeswax, beading thread, a pad to hold the beads and, if needed, magnification.

Beginners to advanced and high school students welcome. Are you interested in taking art classes but you aren’t sure what to try? This class is for you! As the sessions progress, students are encouraged to try a variety of art mediums. Individual skills are assessed first session to provide instructions at each student’s own level. A supply list is available.
