Youth and Teen

Classes for children up to the age of 12 years. High school students may enroll in either Teen or Adult Classes.  Enrollment in Adult Classes is based on availability & ability per approval of the instructor.

Adult

DRAWING, WATERCOLORS, ACRYLICS & OILS
with M.K. Watkins bio

Wednesdays October 6-December 1, 2010 6:00-8:00 PM (No class November 24th)
$70 ($65 members)

Beginners to advanced and high school students welcome. Are you interested in taking art classes but you aren’t sure what to try? This class is for you! As the sessions progress, students are encouraged to try a variety of art mediums. Individual skills are assessed first session to provide instructions at each student’s own level. A supply list is available. Eight sessions. Minimum 5 students. Register by September 30, 2010.


CLASSICAL DRAWING
with Jill Render

Mondays, October 4 - October 25, 2010, !0:00 AM-12:00 PM
$40 ($35 members)

Look at the amazing multi-tonal drawings by master artists such as Michelangelo and Leonardo da Vinci to learn specific techniques including toned ground and white highlighting. All drawing levels are welcome. A supply list will be available at registration. Minimum 4 students.


ADVANCED DIGITAL PHOTOGRAPHY
with Samson Hunckler

2 Mondays October 11 and 18, 2010 6:30-8:30
$35 ($30 members)

An in-depth look at the possibilities hidden in your digital point-and-shoot or DSLR camera. A technical approach to working with your camera, downloading, manipulating, and printing images, as well as strengthening your compositions when designing your photographs. This course will help train your mind’s eye and boost your confidence when working with your digital camera.


BEAD WEAVING
with Jan Johnson

Wednesdays, October 27 - November 17, 2010, 6:00-8:30 PM
$40 ($35 members)

Fall is just around the corner and it's time to try something new. These four projects are bound to catch your imagination. Students will make a necklace of flowers and netting, a Ndebele Herringbone twist bracelet, and a netted collar. The remaining project is one that never fails to get compliments when worn: a spiral in beautiful spring colors. A fee will be charged at each meeting for the materials for the class project. Material fees may range from $12 to $20 depending on market prices at the time. All of the following can be purchased from the instructor but if you have them, please bring beading needles, beading thread, beeswax, and a pad to hold beads. Also, please bring embroidery scissors. Minimum 5 students, maximum 12 students.


SPECIAL NEEDS ART CLASS
with Chris Tower bio

4-week session TBA
$45

This class is made possible with the support from VSA arts of Indiana. This class is designed especially for the artist with special needs. In this fun multi-media class, the students will work on a series of projects individually and as a group. Painting, collage, printmaking, mobiles, and more! A $10 supply fee payable to the Instructor.
